If your first choice is taken or too long, pick from variations built on the same name.
Go to instagram.com followed by the handle. If Instagram says the page isn’t available, the name is probably free.

An Instagram username (your handle, the part after the @) can be up to 30 characters and may only use letters, numbers, periods and underscores. It cannot start or end with a period, and it cannot contain two periods in a row. Instagram does not treat capital and small letters differently, so Hala.Store and hala.store are the same handle.
Usernames only accept Latin letters, so business owners across the Arab world write their brand name in Latin characters, such as bayt.alqahwa or noor_boutique. Your name field is separate: it is the bold line on your profile, it can be written in Arabic, and it helps people find you when they search in Arabic.
This tool checks the rules instantly, but it does not check availability live. Instead, it opens the instagram.com link for your handle. If you see “Sorry, this page isn’t available”, no visible profile uses that name and it is probably free. If a profile opens, it is taken. A name can still be blocked if it belongs to a deactivated or restricted account, so the final answer comes when you try to save the username in the Instagram app.
Tips for a strong business handle: keep it short and easy to spell out loud, match it to your other accounts, and avoid strings of underscores or random numbers that look like spam. If your brand name is taken, add a clear word such as shop, store, official or your city, for example brandname.shop or brandname.dubai. Once the handle is set, polish your profile with the Instagram bio formatter.
Not directly. It checks the rules and opens the profile link. If Instagram shows “Sorry, this page isn’t available”, the handle is probably free, and the Instagram app gives the final answer when you try to save it.

No. Instagram usernames use Latin letters with numbers, periods and underscores. Write your name in Arabic in the Name field instead: it shows on your profile and helps people find you in search.
No. A period cannot be the first or last character, and two periods cannot sit next to each other. Underscores have no such limit.
No. BrandShop and brandshop are the same handle.
Probably, not definitely. The handle may belong to a deactivated or restricted account, or Instagram may hold it back. Try saving it in the app to be sure.
